The Extreme SIP Team that last year built the SIPA award winning "Energy House III" is now gaining attention for work on the Eco House as part of the Eco Experience at the Minnesota State Fair which runs from August 24th through September 4.

The Eco Experience is presented by the Minnesota State Fair and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. A first of its kind, the Eco Experience features an indoor green space with lush rain gardens, an eco home, a live Sustainability Stage, and cutting-edge displays on renewable energy, new fuels and vehicles, and organic farming.

The 28' x 32' SIP structure manufactured by Extreme Panel Technologies was erected by Panelworks Plus and Panel Setters Plus with Northwoods Custom Homes coordinating the overall construction of the project. This unique SIP structure features 4" floor panels, 6" wall panels and 12" roof panels. Much of the structure is left unfinished so that anyone walking through the display will be able to see the progression of the construction. Portions of the home have windows installed and siding, roofing and sheetrock applied. Individuals visiting the home will become aware of the design flexibility, energy efficiency, strength, durability and "green" features of building with SIPs. Products used for roofing, siding, floor coverings, etc are of either recycled or recyclable materials. Energy efficient HVAC equipment, appliances and lighting will also be featured.

Among the guests expected for the Grand Opening of the Eco Experience on August 24th are the Governor and the Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The Minnesota State Fair which annually draws over 1.7 million visitors expects the Eco Experience to be one of the most attended new displays.
